Tin Free Steel (TFS) Coil Sheet, also known as Electrolytic Chromium Coated Steel (ECCS), is a premium packaging material designed for applications requiring high corrosion resistance and excellent printability without traditional tin plating. The substrate is cold-rolled steel coated with a thin layer of chromium (0.2-1.0g/m²) and chromium oxide, creating a non-toxic, environmentally friendly surface. With a typical thickness range of 0.15-0.5mm, TFS offers a smooth, uniform surface ideal for decorative printing and lamination. The chromium layer provides passivation against moisture and acids, while the underlying steel ensures mechanical strength. Unlike tinplate, TFS is lead-free and cadmium-free, making it safe for direct food contact.
